A general description of the work includes:

Supplying, installation, startup, and related work for a new 0.75 million gallon per day water reclamation facility and associated piping, site work, influent force main from US 17 to Shallotte WWTP from Shallotte WWTP to new WRF and from WRF to disposal areas, three high-rate infiltration basins with groundwater lowering drains, and 11.18-acre spray application field.

PreBid Info:   An open pre-bid meeting will be held for all interested bidders and vendors. Directions are as follows: From Wilmington follow US 17 toward Supply. Turn right onto Hwy. 211 heading toward Bolton. Turn right onto Grey Water Road in approximately one mile (beside athletic park). Utilities Operations Center is on right.

Sealed bids must be received in the Brunswick County Public Utilities Operations Center located at 250 Grey Water Road NE, Supply, NC 28462. Bids will be for the furnishing of all labor and materials, including all equipment required, as detailed in the technical specifications, construction drawings, and summary of work contained herein.

All questions or comments shall be submitted in writing to Steve Gerlach PE, at or (704) 334-0078 (fax) by 4:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 The deadline for bidder questions is revised to Tuesday, November 8, 2022. A copy of all questions, further clarifications, and answers will be made in the form of an addendum and will be provided to all known interested bidders and posted on the County’s website. Bidders are responsible for ensuring they have all addenda. Each bid must be made on the forms provided. Brunswick County will not be responsible for the failure of any mail or delivery service to deliver a bid. Regardless of the manner of submission, bids received after the aforementioned date and time, incomplete bids, or bids not submitted at the correct location or in the designated manner will not be accepted. Sealed bids will be opened publicly and read aloud in the Brunswick County Public Utilities Operations Center located at 250 Grey Water Road NE, Supply, NC 28462.

The contract shall be Single Prime.

Brunswick County reserves the unqualified right to reject any and all proposals. A 5% bid bond or deposit and performance and payment bonds are required as more fully set forth in the Notice to Bidders. Contractors must be properly licensed. Additional instructions to bidders are included in the Contract Documents.
