Construction of a new +/-33,000 square foot Technical & Trades Education Facility in Albemarle, NC on the Stanly Community College Campus. The facility will house offices, laboratories and classrooms for HVAC systems, CNC, machining, electronics, building construction trades and electrical power line work training. The building will also have administrative offices and lounge areas.

Stanly County is soliciting Sealed Bids for Stanly Community College from qualified contractors to construct a new Technical & Trades Education Facility at the Albemarle Campus in Albemarle, NC. Bids will be received at the location listed below until the date and time listed:

Bids will be received for Single-Prime. All proposals shall be lump sum. The extent of the work is shown on the drawings and specified in the project manual. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope and plainly labeled on the outer most package “Stanly Community College -Trades Facility” The inside and outside package shall include the Contractor’s License Number.

Each proposal must be accompanied by a cashier’s check issued by or a certified check drawn on a bank of trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation payable to Stanly County in an amount of five percent (5%) of the gross amount of the proposal or by a bond in the above amount executed in accordance with and conditioned as prescribed by G.S. 143-129, State of North Carolina. If the successful bidder fails to give satisfactory surety as required by law, the Owner will retain the above deposit. All contractors are hereby notified that they shall be properly licensed under the state laws governing their trades.

General Contractor to include Performance Bond and Payment Bond for 100% of Contract Amount in the base bid. All bidders are hereby notified that they shall be properly qualified under the state laws governing their respective trades. Contractors must be licensed for work in the state of the project’s jurisdiction.

Stanly County reserves the right to reject all bids, to waive informalities and technicalities, and to cancel the Bid Process at any time.
