Winchester, OH - Alexander Salamon Airport - RemoveTW B, Reconstruct TW A & Apron (16027)

This Project is to demolish and remove the existing partial parallel Taxiways and then reconstruct a new partial parallel taxiway to the northeast and tie into the end of Runway 5-23 (Runway 23 End) at the Alexander Salamon Airport (AMT) in Winchester (West Union), Ohio. The project is planned to include, but not be limited to the following general project elements:

1. Demolish and remove approximately 14,000 square yards of bituminous asphalt taxiway pavement, demolish and remove existing taxiway edge lights, edge markers, airfield guidance signs, lighted wind-tee, drainage pipe and drainage structures. Then regrade the area (approximately 4,500 CY, FAA specification P-152) unclassified excavation to promote positive drainage and comply with FAA grading criteria to construct a new partial parallel taxiway and connector taxiway.
2. Mill (approximately 1,900 SY, 2” nominal depth) and replace Airport entrance drive with ODOT specification asphalt concrete surface course pavement (approximately 300 tons).
3. Construct partial parallel taxiway and connector taxiway pavement consisting of FAA specification P-401 bituminous asphalt (approximately 1,800 tons), P-209 crushed aggregate base course (approximately 1,500 CY), P-154 sub-base course (approximately 1,000 CY) on top of a P-155 lime-treated (approximately 240 tons) subgrade.
4. Construct drainage inlet structure (1 EA) and RCCP pipe culvert (approximately 90 LF).
5. Relocate and Install airfield guidance signs (3 EA), medium-intensity taxiway and runway edge lights (8 EA).
6. Install L-108, L-824C, #8, 600V (approximately 2,300 LF) and 5kv (approximately 1,500 LF) electric cable in conduit or duct.
7. Install L-108, #6 solid bare counterpoise wire in trench (approximately 1,300 LF).
8. Install L-110, 2” PVC conduit in trench (approximately 1,200 LF).
9. Install L-125 stake mounted taxiway edge reflective markers (38 EA).
10. Relocate existing Runway 23 approach, Runway End Identifier Light (REIL) system.
11. Relocate existing lighted wind-tee.
