Lincoln County NC - Pump Stations 8 and 9 Rehabilitation (20180056.00.CL)

The Project consists of the rehabilitation of Lincoln County’s Pump Station No. 8 and No. 9 wet wells and valve vaults to include:

1. Installation of new manholes with corrosion protection liner to serve as temporary wet wells for by-pass pumping during the rehabilitation of Pump Station No. 8 and No. 9.
2. Modifications of 2-1/2-inch and 4-inch force mains at Pump Station No. 8 to redirect these force mains from Manhole No. 10400598 to a new temporary wet well including the installation of a force main outside drop in a new manhole.
3. Modifications of 4-inch and 2-inch force main piping connections at Manhole No. 10400597 to combine force mains and provide an outside drop into the manhole.
4. Supply, operation and maintenance of a by-pass pumping system permitting the existing pumps and wet well at Pump Station No. 8 and No. 9 to be removed from service for rehabilitation.
5. Temporary connection of the existing pump station high level alarms to the by-pass pump wet well to provide remote monitoring during by-pass pumping using the Owners’ existing SCADA system.
6. Removal and proper disposal of all sludge, grease and grit material accumulations and residuals associated with the cleaning and rehabilitation of existing wet wells and manholes.
7. Abrasive blast cleaning, patching and repair of the interior surfaces of the existing wet well and designated concrete manhole structures.
8. Replacement of existing ductile iron piping within the wet well at Pump Station No. 9 to outlet pipe flange.
9. Wet well and designated manhole rehabilitation by the application of a cementitious material to restore the existing concrete surfaces and application of a high build epoxy coating providing corrosion protection and enhanced structural integrity within the rehabilitated wet wells and manholes.
10. Furnish and installation of new pump level control float and pump wiring holders and pressure gauge connections at Pump Station No. 8. Pump base elbows, guide rails, piping and check valves have recently been replaced by OWNER and will not require replacement.
11. Furnish and installation of new pump base elbows matching existing pumps, associated pump guide rails, mounting hardware, level control float and pump wiring holders at Pump Station No. 9.
12. Furnish and installation of new manhole ring and manhole covers at rehabilitated manholes.
13. Replacement of existing check valves in Pump Station No. 9 valve vault and installation of new pressure gauge connection taps.
14. Replacement of designated above-ground electrical conduits, junction boxes at pump stations.
15. Cleaning, preparation and painting of piping and valves within the valve vaults.
16. Services to place the pumps, valves, controls and existing SCADA alarms back into automatic service.
17. Conversion of temporary wet wells to manholes to include filling of wet well area, installation of new manhole inverts, application of high build epoxy coating within the manholes.
18. Final pump station area grading and addition of new stone within fenced area and access roadway.
19. Furnish and install new cell telephone SCADA alarm system at both Pump Station No. 8 and No. 9 utilizing County preferred SCADA supplier – Dorsett Technologies, Inc. of Statesville, NC.
20. Bidders shall supply an “Add Alternative Cost” with the bid for the complete replacement of Manhole No. 10400598 at Pump Station No. 8 in place of rehabilitation of the existing manhole and installation of a high build epoxy coating for corrosion protection in the event the existing manhole is found to be unsatisfactory or rehabilitation.

The engineer’s estimate is $350,000.

PreBid Info:   The pump station project sites, wet wells, existing pump installations and adjacent areas will be open for examination by bidders between the hours of 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM for Pump Station #8 and 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM for Pump Station #9 on May 3 and May 10, 2018. All bidders must attend one (1) of these pre-bid site visits to each pump station site to examine the sites and interior of the wet wells, vaults and related manholes. Visitation to each pump station site must be documented by registration to be eligible to bid.
