Raleigh NC - Swann Street Drainage Improvement

The work will generally consist of clearing, grading, storm and sewer pipe removal, RCP, water and sanitary sewer installation, utility relocations and adjustments, curb and gutter, block retaining wall, installation of in- stream boulder structures, 3-sided culvert bridges, driveway repairs, paving, traffic control, erosion and sediment control and other related items as shown on the plans, in the contract specifications and/or as directed by the Project Engineer. The Contractor shall be responsible for the installation of soil erosion and sediment control devices; earth excavation; fill borrow, topsoil and seedbed material; and storing and stockpiling material and stabilization measures.

No proposal will be considered or accepted unless at the time of its filing, the same shall be accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, or certified check on a bank or trust company insured by the FDIC and authorized to do business in North Carolina in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the proposal. In the alternative, a five percent (5%) bid bond issued by a corporate surety licensed by the State of North Carolina may be filed with the proposal. Bidders must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the General Statues of North Carolina and must comply with nondiscrimination provisions. The City is an equal opportunity Municipality/Owner and invites small and minority contractors to bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.

Furthermore, the City’s goal is to contract or sub-contract fifteen percent (15%) of the contract amount to certified MWBEs on construction projects over $300,000, or with contracts that include $100,000 or more in state funding. The goal breakdown is 8% for minorities and 7% for non-minority females.
