High Point, NC - Burton Substation Fence Installation Bid 7036-052721

The Electric Utilities Department for the city of High Point is upgrading the substation located at 2301 English Road. Part of this project consists of a new chain link fence being installed at this substation. This station must be secured daily, so new fence installation areas will need to be taken down in sections only large enough to be put back in the same day. Some of the new fence is inside of the existing fence and some is outside. Takedown and disposal of the existing fence is part of this project and required to be performed. Existing posts can be cut off and left in place. Estimated Quantities and other pertinent information for fencing are listed below:

• To furnish and install 936 linear feet (+/-) of 9’ overall height Galvanized Chain Link Fence
• To furnish and install 2 – 24’ width Double Swing Gates
• To furnish and install 2 – 30’ width Cantilever Slide Gate
• To furnish and install 1 – 4’ width walk through gate
• All hardware of fence and gates included
• Bracing and Trussed fence is required
• Fabric: 9 gauge with a 2” mesh (aluminized)
• Top & Brace Rails: 1-5/8” O.D.
• Line Post: 2-1/2” O.D. x Schedule 40
• End & Corner Posts: 3” O.D. x Schedule 40
• Cantilever Roller Post: 4” O.D. x Schedule 40
• 24’ width Double Swing Gate Post: 6-5/8” O.D. x Schedule 40
• Cantilever Rollers: 4” with guards
• Truss Rods: 3/8” O.D.
• Barbwire: Class III, 4 point
• Bottom Coil: 7 gauge
• All posts to be set in concrete footings
• No electrical grounding required, but CHP Electric crews will be onsite to work with contractor for this function.
