Iredell-Statesville (NC) Schools Additions & Renovations to West Iredell High School

The additions and renovations to the West Iredell High School- Career and Technical Education that consists of a 7,773 square foot single story addition to the existing 173,589 square foot school. The addition is a fully sprinklered, educational use group of Type IB construction as defined under the 2018 North Carolina State Building Code. Sitework will includes utilities, driveways, retaining wall, flatwork and landscaping. The addition and renovations will include renovated art and woodworking classrooms, renovated and enlarged woodworking shop, new agriculture/ mechanics, introduction to transportation and horticulture shops and classrooms, egress corridor, staff and student toilet rooms and mechanical spaces.

6.07 BID SECURITY
Each bid must be accompanied by good and sufficient bid security in the form of a Bid Bond, a certified check, a cashier’s check, or a money order (no cash), in the name of the Owner, for an amount not less than five [5] percent of the amount of the bid, which security shall be conditioned to secure the Owner from loss or damage by reason of the withdrawal of the bid, or by failure of a Bidder to enter into a contract for performance of the Work should his/her bid be accepted by the Owner.

OFFER ACCEPTANCE/REJECTION
7.01 DURATION OF OFFER A. Owner will review all bids and will negotiate contract with selected contractor based on lowest qualified bid. Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
B. Lowest bid will be rejected if it is significantly out of bidders range.
C. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days following submittal of bids.

7.02 ACCEPTANCE OF OFFER
A. Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers.
B. After acceptance by Owner, Architect on behalf of Owner, will issue to the successful Bidder, a written Notice to Proceed.
C. Owner, prior to awarding contract, reserves the right to review financials for the General Contractor and all major subcontractor listed above in section 6.03, subparagraph B.
