Mooresville, NC - Mooresville Pump Station Rehabilitations

The project involves work at two (2) wastewater pump stations and will be bid under the same project name and formal bid process, but will contain independent project scopes and may result in potentially two (2) separate contracts or divisions of work. The Town of Mooresville will open all bids duly received publicly at the stated time for the bid opening and then will evaluate with the Engineer the award scenario most advantageous to the Town.

PreBid Info:   A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. local time on June 11, 2020 at the South Iredell Pump Station project site located at 337 Mazeppa Road, Mooresville, North Carolina 28115. Interested parties are invited to attend this meeting to review the plans, ask for additional information or clarification, and visit the project site. After the meeting, a site visit will also be allowed at the Reeds Creek Pump Station located at 800 Golf Course Drive, Mooresville, North Carolina 28115. A second date for site visits is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. June 17, 2020 at the South Iredell Pump Station site. Interested Contractors are strongly encouraged to visit the project sites on the day of the pre-bid conference, on the secondary date for site access or both. No site visits will be permitted beyond these two dates.

Bid Info:   Sealed bids for the project entitled Mooresville Pump Station Rehabilitations will be received by the Town of Mooresville until 2:00 p.m. local time June 30, 2020 in the Operations Center located at 2523 Charlotte Hwy, Mooresville, NC 28117. At said place and time, all Bids that have been duly received, will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Bidders may bid on either one (1) or both of the two (2) contract divisions and their bid still be considered a responsive bid.

Contract 1 – Reeds Creek Pump Station Wet Well Rehabilitation: The project generally consists of improvements to the Reeds Creek Pump Station including wet well rehabilitation and relining, bypass pumping arrangement, and all related appurtenances.

Contract 2 – South Iredell Pump Station Wet Well Rehabilitation and Bar Screen: The Project generally consists of improvements to the South Iredell Pump Station including a new mechanical screen and conveying system, Parshall flume, wet well rehabilitation and relining, bypass pumping arrangement, electrical, controls, dumpster pad, and all related appurtenances.

Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any Addenda, obtained from any other source.

Bidders must comply with the requirements of the State of North Carolina and be appropriately licensed as a Contractor as provided in General Statutes Chapter 87. Each bid shall be accompanied with a cash deposit or certified check drawn on a bank or trust company insured by the FDIC or a Bid Bond prepared on the form of Bid Bond contained in the Bidding Documents or a Surety Company’s standard form and properly executed by a corporate surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds. The amount of the bid bond shall be equal to five (5) percent of the total of the bid. The bid deposit shall be retained by the Owner if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract or fails to provide the required bonds, as stated above, within ten (10) days after the proper notice of award of the contract.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive informalities, or to reject nonconforming, non-responsive, or conditional bids. The Owner reserves the right to award a single contract to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder or multiple contracts to the lowest responsive, responsible bidders for each Contract Division, taking into consideration quality, performance and time. The Owner will make such award in a manner that supports its best interests.
