Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or a bid bond by an acceptable surety
company of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the
Owner, MCGEE’S CROSSROADS WATER DISTRICT, as a bid guarantee.
A Performance and a Payment Bond will be required for the successful bidder in the amount of
one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, conditioned upon the faithful performance of
the contract, payment of all persons supplying labor or furnishing materials, and payment of all
liabilities incurred in connection with the work under this contract.
Each Bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope, addressed to Rick J. Hester, District Manager,
c/o Chandra C. Farmer, P.E., Director of Utilities, Johnston County, 309 E. Market Street, Smithfield, NC
27577. Each sealed envelope containing a BID must be plainly marked on the outside as BID for
construction of McGee’s Crossroads Water District NC 210 Water Main Improvements, and the envelope
should bear on the outside the name of the BIDDER, his address, his license number if applicable, and the
name of the project for which the BID is submitted. If forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing
the BID must be enclosed in another envelope addresses to the OWNER.
