Town of Sullivan's Island, SC - Wastewater Lift Station Conversions (20180422.00.CH)

Work of the Project includes the demolition of five (5) existing self-priming suction lift wastewater pump stations and construction of new duplex submersible pump lift stations on the same site. Each station will require a new 8-foot diameter wet well, slab, above-grade piping and valves, aluminum platform with generator, light asphalt paving, and fencing. A combination of manholes and gravity sewer will be required to direct flow to the lift stations. Each lift station will connect to the existing 6-inch force mains. The existing pump stations are to stay in service until the new submersible stations are tested, approved, and placed into service.

Alternate Bid No.1 includes using polymer concrete wet wells in lieu of the precast concrete with Level C lining included in the base bid.

Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cash deposit or certified check, drawn on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, in an amount equal to not less than five (5%) percent of the proposal. In lieu thereof, the bidder may offer a bid bond of five (5%) percent of the bid prepared on the Bid Bond form contained within the Contract Documents or a Surety Company's Standard Bid Bond form, duly executed by the Bidder as principal and executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of South Carolina to execute such bonds and listed in the latest issue of U. S. Treasury Circular 570, conditioned that the surety will, upon demand, forthwith make payment to the obligee upon said bond if the bidder fails to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. Said deposit shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages in event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law.

No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 90 days.

Bidders must comply with the President’s Executive Order No. 11246, as amended, which prohibits discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin.

The Contractor shall comply with the Department of Labor Safety and Health Regulations for construction promulgated under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (PL91 596) and under Section 107 of the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act (PL91 54), or latest revisions.

All Equipment/Manufacturer “Or-Equal” Qualification Packages, per the Instructions to Bidders Document 00 21 13, must be submitted at least ten days prior to the advertised bid date.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and technicalities.

Once payment is secured, you will receive an email that your files are ready to be downloaded from your account.

Purchase of entire bid set includes all plans and specifications, including any addenda released at time of order. Planholders will be notified by email when future addenda are issued and it will be the responsibility of each plan holder to download the addenda. Shipping, if required, will be charged to each order.

Online orders are filled within 1-2 business days.

ADDENDA DISTRIBUTION

Existing planholders will be notified by email upon the release of any addenda. Failure to order bid sets through Duncan-Parnell may prevent you from being notified of issued addenda. Printed copies of addendum will be available at no additional charge. Shipping, if required will be charged. Contact your local Duncan-Parnell office to request a printed set of addenda files. Addenda notifications are sent via email from the mail account of “addendaNotification@dpibidroom.com” and could be flagged as spam by your company network firewall.
