Barnwell (SC) County Courthouse

Project scope consists of furnishing all materials, equipment and labor necessary for repair construction services to the exterior and interior of an existing courthouse structure. The historic courthouse was constructed in 1878 with later additions built in 1902, 1921, 1949, 1960s, and 1988. The two-story stucco/masonry building measures approximately 20,934 sf. Barnwell County anticipates a construction start date of early-mid January 2020 with required completion within a twelve-month timeline. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, structural repairs to crawlspace elements, ironwork stairs, and attic trusses; repair and replacement of exterior windows; restoration and replacement of exterior doors and hardware; repairs to stucco and EIFS stucco; repointing of masonry; repairs to existing wood cornice and entablature; removing existing roofing and installing new asphalt shingle and membrane roofs; installing aluminum flashing and drip edge; over framing existing built-in gutters; installing new aluminum external gutters, downspouts, parapet coping, and through-wall scuppers; replacing exterior roof access ladder; exterior painting including metal, wood, & masonry substrates; abatement and hazardous material; limited repairs and upgrades to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; upgrades to life safety and security systems; and interior renovations at select locations to provide new holding cells, restrooms, offices, and non-jury courtroom.

Purchase of entire bid set includes all plans and specifications, including any addenda released at time of order. Planholders will be notified by email when future addenda are issued and it will be the responsibility of each plan holder to download the addenda. Shipping, if required, will be charged to each order.

ADDENDA DISTRIBUTION

Existing planholders will be notified by email upon the release of any addenda. Failure to order bid sets through Duncan-Parnell may prevent you from being notified of issued addenda. Printed copies of addendum will be available at no additional charge. Shipping, if required will be charged. Contact your local Duncan-Parnell office to request a printed set of addenda files.
