Charlotte, NC - Newell South Neighborhood Improvement Project (512-07-026)

The Newell-South Neighborhood is bordered by N. Tryon Street, Orr Road, Old Concord Road and W. Rocky River Road. Sidewalk is proposed on Owen, Gray, Creekstone, Blue Rock, and Rockland. Proposed Phase 2 of the Toby Creek Greenway will extend through the neighborhood at Rocky River Road and Rockland Drive. An overland connector is proposed along Rockland. The proposed sidewalks within the neighborhood will provide safe pedestrian connection to the Greenway as well as the BLE corridor and the proposed Tom Hunter Station. Newell South NIP Phase 2 has been created by removing Kemp Street and associated improvements from the original project. Work includes grading, drainage, concrete, curb and gutter, sidewalk, erosion control, and traffic control.
