Charlotte NC - McKee Rd & Providence Rd Intersection Improvements (512-11-013)

This project will construct improvements to the intersection of McKee Road, Ballantyne Commons Parkway and Providence Road to improve capacity and relieve congestion at this heavily traveled intersection. The improvements involve constructing a second southbound left turn lane and completing the widening of McKee Road to Alderbrook Lane. The project will also add pedestrian refuge islands, wider sidewalks, and bicycle lanes. The works include grading; construction of concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, driveways, wheel chair ramps and islands; installation of pipe culvert and drainage structures; retaining walls; asphalt pavement; pavement markings; erosion control; traffic control and utility works.

Bidders must be properly licensed under North Carolina state law to perform the work.

A 5% bid security is required with each bid that equals or exceeds $100,000.

The estimated cost of this Project is $4,685,000.00.

Please submit questions or inquiries at least seven (7) calendar days before the Bid Due Date. Questions or inquiries past this deadline may not be addressed by the City prior to the Bid Due Date.

The City of Charlotte reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or technicalities as it may deem to be in its best interest.

The contract entered into by and between the successful Bidder and the City will be subject to the requirements of a financial assistance contract between the City and the U.S. Department of Transportation. The Contractor, and his Subcontractors performing Work will be required to comply with federal statutes and regulations including but not limited to: 49 CFR Part 29; the Occupational Safety and Health Standards and the Safety and Health Regulations for Construction, 29 CFR Parts 1910 and 1926; the Davis-Bacon Act; the Anti-Kickback Act; the Contract Work Hours Standards; and the President’s Executive Orders No. 11246 and No. 11375. The City will act to ensure that Disadvantage Business Enterprises (DBE) have an equitable opportunity to compete in contracting activities.

A DBE Contract Goal of 14% has been established for this project.

Purchase of entire bid set includes all plans and specifications, including any addenda released at time of order. Planholders will be notified by email when future addenda are issued and it will be the responsibility of each plan holder to download the addenda. Shipping, if required, will be charged to each order.

ADDENDA DISTRIBUTION

Existing planholders will be notified by email upon the release of any addenda. Failure to order bid sets through Duncan-Parnell may prevent you from being notified of issued addenda. Printed copies of addendum will be available at no additional charge. Shipping, if required will be charged. Contact your local Duncan-Parnell office to request a printed set of addenda files.
