Milhaven Lane Sidewalk (512-07-046)

Through the guidance of the City’s Transportation Action Plan (adopted by City Council in May 2006), the City of Charlotte is committed to becoming a more “walkable” community. The Transportation Action Plan calls for many pedestrian related facilities, including the construction of over 625 miles of new sidewalks by 2030 to provide a safer, more connected and more comfortable pedestrian system. This project will add 5’ sidewalk with a 8’ planting strip to provide a continuous network of sidewalk on Milhaven Lane, from Sunset Road to Statesville Road. This project is being done as part of the Sidewalk Program and will follow the Urban Street Design Guidelines. This project includes 5’ concrete sidewalks, wheelchair ramps, concrete driveway replacement, 8’ planting strips where possible, retaining walls, storm drainage improvements along Dellinger Circle and traffic control. This project will enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility.

This project 1.15 mile of new sidewalk towards the goal of 625 miles of new sidewalk by 2030.
